Waste Types

When you hire a skip bin it is important that you select the correct waste type. Our dumping fees are dependent on the correct materials being placed in the bin.

For most home renovation or office clean up projects the General Waste skip bin is the appropriate choice. However if your project is mainly concrete, bricks, pavers or soil you need to make sure you hire the appropriate bin that can accommodate heavy waste as there are implications in both dumping fees and the capability of the skip truck to lift the bin to remove it.

Note it is illegal to place any asbestos in any of these skip bins.

General Waste

This type of bin is common for household waste, office clean outs and commercial waste. Common materials placed in this type of bin include timber, white goods, tools, BBQ, cabinetry, furniture, clothing, light goods, toys. computers and technology, electrical appliances, plastics, cardboard, general household items, packaging, and similar general waste.

Please note Green Waste can also be placed in this bin.

You cannot put heavy materials in these bins such as concrete, bricks, pavers, soil.

Green Waste

Green Waste skip bins are perfect for customers removing their old gardens or pruning. You can place large amount of branches, grass clippings, small trees and any other plant or grass related offcuts.

These bins are often hired when the customer is removing old gardens.

You cannot put heavy materials in these bins such as concrete, bricks, pavers, soil, stumps.

Light Construction & Demolition Waste

These bins are used for renovations of mainly timber, plasterboard, metal, general waste and small amounts of tiles can be disposed off.

Old sinks, bathtubs, shower screens, glass, kitchen tops, carpet, flooring, and other light demolition materials are available for this bin.

Green and general waste is allowed in these bins.

You cannot put heavy materials in these bins such as concrete, bricks, pavers, soil, stumps.

Clean Concrete

These bins are used for concrete or brick removal jobs. The term “clean waste” refers to the fact that there is strictly concrete, bricks or pavers only in the bin and no other contaminates such as general waste.

When the waste is clean it allows us to dump it in the concrete / brick section at the waste centre and we are charged accordingly.

You cannot put anything except for concrete, bricks, rubble or pavers in these bins.

Mixed / Heavy Construction Waste

Heavy waste skip bins are used when the waste is a combination of building materials, general waste, concrete, bricks and/or rubble and soil.

This type of bin is commonly used by builders or renovators where they’re performing demolition work where there’s a mixture of heavy waste combined with other general construction waste like timbers etc.

Soil Waste

A soil skip bin is used when the material is strictly soil only.

This type of skip is commonly used on projects such as preparing land for concrete slabs, levelling land, landscaping and digging holes for construction projects.

You cannot put other materials in these bins such as concrete, bricks or any other general waste.
